In the process, in the waiting
You’re making melodies over me
And Your presence is the promise
For I am a pilgrim on a journey
Welcome to my blog! The name, “Pilgrim on a Journey” stems from the song Shepherd by Bethel. The word “pilgrimage” means “to travel towards a higher place of meaning or significance”. If you think about it, we are all pilgrims on a journey, seeking meaning in this life, seeking a homeland. And if you are a believer in Christ, this world, while our temporary home, is not where we eternally belong. Our citizenship is in heaven, the place where God has promised believers in Jesus an eternal life with Him.
Hebrews 11:13 speaks about believers throughout the Bible who had faith – even when that faith still led to unfulfilled promises. These believers admitted that they were aliens and strangers on this earth – and that they were longing for a country of their own – a heavenly country.
God promises to be present with us for the whole pilgrimage, even in the process, even in the waiting. I hope to share with you my pilgrimage, whether it be journeying across the world or experiencing life and growing right here at home in Atlanta.
